Renew
You can renew using one of two easy methods:
HHSC will send you a letter about two (2) months before it is time to renew your child's coverage. Fill out the paper form and send it back immediately.
Make sure you do not miss the deadline. If you miss the deadline, your child will lose their coverage, and you will have to start a new application again.
For CHIP only
If you make more than 151% FPL, you will have an income review every 6 months, but CHIP will send you a notice if this applies to you. If you move remember to call 211 and update your new address with HHSC.
Even if your children are not sick, they should have a checkup every year. You never know when your child might get sick or hurt and if you don't have insurance this can cost thousands of dollars. It is always better to know that your children are covered in the event that they would need medical care, so go ahead and renew. Remember we are here to help you every step of the way.
